bio

My name is Ember Muninn (they/them), and I am an abstract artist, bookmaker, instructor, and Creative Cirector currently based in S’ólh Téméxw, the traditional and unceded territory of the Stó꞉lō Nation, Fraser Valley, BC.

In 2011, I completed my undergraduate degree at Emily Carr University in General Fine Arts, with a focus on Print Making and Book Arts. I also completed courses in Photography, Painting, and Sculpture, and developed an interdisciplinary approach to art making. Following graduation, I worked for several local galleries and print shops, engaged in a number of community arts opportunities, and further developed my painting and book making practices.

In addition to my personal practice, I have been teaching bookmaking workshops across the Lower Mainland for the last ten years.

Artist statement

I make art to find refuge in the world, experience moments of beauty and joy, to stimulate my creative faculties, and to tap into divinity.
